This week in Maths we had to do converting between decimals, fractions and percentages. We had to answer 3 questions the teacher made for us, and then we had to make 3 questions of our own.

Reading WS Week 7

Kia ora bloggers,

This week in reading, we have started novel study. I am reading The Book Thief  by Markus Zusak and it was illustrated by Trudy White. It is about a little girl called Liesel Meminger who was also known as the book thief, who was travelling to Munich with her younger brother and her Mum. When all of a sudden her brother dies.

If you would like to know more about this book then read my Reading WS Week 8 blog, which I will link to this one in a week.

For the create task we had to make a table were would write a sentence from the book, then briefly write a shorter sentence to explain the sentence and then we had to write how the sentence from the book would make us think about.

The goal was to  Use knowledge from text to combine with new ideas (own and others) to come up with new thinking, and make connections between other texts and general knowledge to expand meaning and pose questions, using more sophisticated texts.

This week for writing we had to write a short paragraph including 2 compound sentences, 2 complex sentences and two simple sentences. The goal was to Use a variety of sentences structures, beginning and lengths to give effect.

This book is about the voids the voids were an army that ruled NZ.

The main characters are Tre and Muse which are looking for Tre's parents.

Hello welcome back to my blog this week we have been doing some maths, the goal was to use a broad range of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems with whole numbers and decimals (place value).

collaboration

As you may already know my school st Francis of Assisi has a fair that is happening on this Sunday 8th of march 2020. My group and I are running a game called knock the bottle's,  I think my group did well with collaborating with each other. Here are two reason's on how my group did well collaborating with each other. 

Reason number 1 is communicating. My group and I did well on talking to each other if we had an idea. Lastly reason number 2 is listening to each other, I think we (Me and my group) did well on listening to each other because if we had a idea we didn't just talk over each other. But instead we listened to the idea one of us had.

Hey guys welcome back to yet another blog I hope you guys had a wonderful Waitangi day and had heaps of fun. Today I will be talking to you about what I have been learning about the treaty and what the treaty is so lets get right into it.

Captain cook first discovered Aoteroa and had told the Queen that it was safe to live on and for others to live on so she headed to Aoteroa. When the Queen got there, there were Maori chiefs and they thought that the land was theirs to own so the Queen went back to England to think of an idea. She decided to create a treaty so the all people (Maori and British) could live there. The treaty was then signed on the 6 of February 1840 and all Maori and British lived in peace.

This week the whole school has been doing swimming lessons for the past 2 weeks to help us with survival. We have been doing freestyle, backstroke, survival backstroke, dolphin dives, belly flops and bombs. For the past 2 days we have been doing a survival lessons to help us in survival situations like how to keep warm in cold situations, how to throw a buoy.

my name is Iker this is my first blog. My hopes for this year is are to pass all my tests and do well, I would also like to learn new things in different subjects and leave on a good note.

I am also looking forward to some events like the school fair, athletics, cross country and other events that we get told at random times.

In the holidays I didn't really to much I  mostly stayed home and watched TV, but we also went on walks that were pretty good, the views were amazing.
